24 juniors and their parents and grandparents attended the opening of the new academy course. Brandon Black opened the event on his way to a new course record of 13…1 over par. The academy course was Junior Organiser Syd Jasper’s brainchild and he was absolutely delighted with the turn out. As the teams set out in 4′s to compete in the inaugral competition one of the young competitors had a quiet word with me to say, “This is the most nervous game that I have ever played. I just do not want to make a fool of myself”
At the prize giving Phil Delafield, Club Captain added, “It is incredible to see so many juniors and their parents turn out; I never realised that we had so many. I am really pleased and it augers well for the future”
Darren Charlton added, “Thursday evenings will be Juniors night during the 6 week summer holiday starting this Thursday the 29th July 
and we hope to attract an even greater following with fun events and coaching for all”
