On a glorious August afternoon, this was a ‘friendly’ with a real competitive edge to it. It is a strange feeling when you actually want your competitors to play better than you but seeing the juniors play up close does auger well for the future of the section. There were some excellent individual performances all around the course as the juniors drew the attention of the handicaps chair, Dave Price with their sub 60 net scores. Imagine what would have happened if they had played off the yellows!
All in all, a good fun day was had by all. Barry Potter, club president, reflected on the days events at the evening meal. “I will be keen to see more teams enter next year’s event and I promise a more traditional junior fare.
