One of the major stumbling blocks in the development of Junior Golf at DDGC has been the lack of a ‘half decent’ training facility to protect everyone from inclement weather. Pictures of Darren holding an umbrella over his shivering charges always comes to mind…and that can be in June! Until now. Through a single sponsorship gesture from a club member the club will soon be benefiting from a top quality facility that will be the envy of many other clubs in the region. “It was a no brainer to me. It will give Darren the opportunity to extend his lesson time, it will help bring on some new juniors and potential members too, plus I might get the time to use it and improve my own game” Junior organiser John Winter added “This is just what the club and the junior section needs. It really is fantastic news and a great fillip for the start of the New Year and I cannot thank our sponsor enough for making this happen”
With tongue firmly in cheek he added, “Adult members will also be able to use the facility… but times will be restricted”
