Can you remember when Liverpool beat AC Milan in The Champions League Final in 2005. 3 -0 nil down at half time and going nowhere! But somehow they overcame the deficit to snatch victory from their opponents in the 2nd half. Yesterday, felt the same. 5:2 down from the 1st leg against a very good Berkhamsted team there was still a glimmer of hope as we know just how important home advantage is. I witnessed 4 shots going straight into the cornfield from the Berkhamsted side as they struggled to cope with the windy conditions. Shot selection too was difficult. We know what club to take off the 2nd and the 5th from years of practice but they were coming up short…
5 points won in the 1st 5 games with Ryan Smith looking to score an impressive 75 and Brandon Blacks 6 handicap opponent walking in on the 10th 6 down. With Freya narrowly losing 2 & 1 all focus was on team debutant Ryan Shilleto in the final game. Ryan did not disappoint with a brilliant drive on the 17th, an equally good wedge to the heart of the 17th green and 2 putts to secure a win for him and the DDGC team. “I was just so nervous” he admitted afterwards
DDGC now await the results of the other quarter final to see who they face in the semi final
