Can you remember what the weather was like on this year’s Men’s Invitation Day? It was not good. The DDGC Junior team travelled to Woburn with great intrepidation. Of course they wanted to play Woburn, but the conditions travelling to the course were truly horrendous with all the pre match talk about casual water and explaining the rules of play.
But at 13:21, on the Duke’s course, there was what can only be described as divine intervention. The weather broke, the sun came out, the wind dropped and an excellent days golf awaited all of the participants. I last played The Dukes about 10 years ago and I had forgotten just what a great golf course it is. Great layout, challenging holes, good greens…it has it all
We lost this friendly game 3:1, but it was another good experience for the team to play this UK Top 50 golf course.
