Ryan Smith, Brandon Black & Elliot Roch competed in the John O Gaunt Scratch tournament last week. Pitted against the very best golfers in the region and many much older players too, the young DDGC team finished up in 5th place in this scratch event.
With the best 2 scores from 3 to count, it was good to see that every player contributed a gross score to the team’s total. Next year we will be older and stronger. The highlight of the day had to be Brandon’s eagle 2 on the par 4 14th. A 2 iron and a 7 iron helped him onto his way to a gross 77
The event organiser was keen to praise the DDGC team who were, once again, great ambassadors for our club. “Please pass on my congratulations and thanks to all players; as well as a great exhibition of golf, the etiquette shown by all players was impeccable and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, meeting players from different clubs and counties”
