Knebworth golf course was in great condition on Sunday as Dunstable attempted to change their current inter club fortunes. Their new panoramic conservatory added to the day and looked absolutely superb and with the newly built patios capturing the evening sun this added to the excellent hospitality shown by the Knebworth members.
Once again this match was very popular and indeed oversubscribed however with a team of significant experience especially one that comprised many ‘red jackets’-it was expected to give the home side a tremendous battle.
This thought process was encouraged as Dunstable with a similar team as playing in this match had previously won the four clubs competitions in which Knebworth were propping up the other three teams ( Dunstable running out as winners)
Unfortunately the result was three and a half points to Dunstable and eight and a half points to Knebworth . This result sounded huge in favour of the home team however 4 of the matches went to the 18th green when Dunstable missed out on all occasions.
The day however was a great success and all of the team members must be congratulated. Our thanks go to Knebworth and we look forward to doing battle in the men’s match on the 17th September.
