The match for the prestigious PJ Trophy took place on Sunday 28th August. The weather and conditions were good.
There were eight-four ball, betterball matches, and some players on both sides were making their debuts. The juniors were on a high following their fine showing against the scratch team.
Some excellent golf was played and many individuals played well below their handicap i.e. an 18 handicapper shot 6 gross pars on the first 9 holes and a further 3 or 4 on the second 9. Over to you Handicap and Competitions.
The matches were played in excellent spirit and unsurprisingly resulted in a win for the Juniors by 5 matches to 3. Well played the Juniors for your deserved success.
After the match Lisa provided an excellent carvery and the President presented the trophy, albeit through gritted teeth.
Many thanks to all those who made the event possible and for everybody for turning out for the event on the Bank Holiday and Charity weekend. Also many thanks to Lisa, Gavin and Alan.
All in all an excellent day and congratulations to John Winter and his team. They were a credit to him and the club.

A real pleasure to play for the President’s team.
Many congratulations to the Juniors for their well deserved win.
They were a very impressive team in every sense. Full marks to the parents, and all involved from the club.
Special thanks to Sam and Ryan who slaughtered Rob and I, but in a very sporting way.
