Robert Sutton retains King George V Trophy

Robert Sutton had a superb weekend by retaining The King George V Coronation Challenge Cup  at Porters Park GC on Saturday 6th August . There was a very strong field with England A Squad players in attendance . Robert shot 68 (Course par 70) in the morning round then held on with a 71 in the afternoon to win by one shot from Luke Colgate from Berkhamstead golf club. The last player to win back to back KGV Cups was Peter Townsend  who played Walker Cup as an amateur and then went on the play in the Ryder Cup so no mean feat.

This was part of a 72 hole competition over the same weekend with a further 36 holes at Moor Park GC on Sunday 7th for the Herts Stag trophy .Robert shot 78 & 72 to came 4th Overall in the Hertfordshire  Bowl .
