Dunstable Downs Golf Club is a private members golf club and as a member you are guaranteed a warm welcome to you, your family and friends, including children. Becoming a member represents fantastic value through a variety of categories that suit all ages and standards.

The process of joining is simple and membership fees can be paid by installments. Gone are the days of formal interviews with the Committee or playing auditions with a Committee member.

Our membership is incredibly broad in terms of age, golfing experience, cultural background and occupation. Whether you are male or female, young or old, new to golf or a scratch player, everyone is welcome.

Playing membership allows unlimited use of the course and clubhouse, the opportunity to enter Club competitions and to maintain an official CONGU handicap that can now be used throughout the world. (From November 2020). Social membership is available for those non-golfers wishing to make use of our excellent clubhouse facilities.

We have regular tasting sessions for those getting into golf, and our regular ‘fiddles’, ‘swindles’ and ‘roll ups’ are a great opportunity to meet other like-minded members and to make new friends.

Discounted shop prices
Headline 5% discounts on Golf Bags, Shoes, and non DDGC Logo clothing to members. But check out Darren’s page on this web site for the very latest deals.

Your Health
The health benefits of playing golf are significant. It is a sport that can be played from 4 to 104. In a 9-hole round, a player will walk two to three miles, take over 5,000 steps and burn over 450 calories.

What our new members say
- Steve Fenn -

The welcome received by EVERYBODY at the Club has been exceptional. I was made to feel at home from minute one and especial thanks go to Terry Pead, Nigel Beddall and Steve Harris (Captain) for all going the extra mile in helping me settle in.

- Ian Chalmers -

All the comps are well arranged and by joining the Saturday Cricketers fiddle I have been able to play regular weekend golf which was exactly what I was looking for before I retire next year.

- Terry McGovern -

At Dunstable you make new members very welcome and I would say this is the biggest plus for anyone joining. It was made very clear that all the fiddles are open to new members and I have not experienced any rejection to join ANY of the groups, just the opposite.

- Nigel Ward -

Personally, I was made to feel so welcome here by everyone. In fact, on my first day I was spoken to by more members on my journey from the carpark to the putting green than in the whole 4 yrs of membership at my previous club. The course is always in great condition.

- Peter Lee -

What I have enjoyed the most is the friendliness of all the other members and the staff and the condition of the course. I am able to play when I have the time. I am a fan of the tee booking system that allows members to book and cancel their own tee times at the click of a button

- Eric Houston -

One of the reasons I joined Dunstable was it rarely has to close. I also appreciate the work that has gone into achieving the current condition the course is in. The ground staff are to be congratulated on their professional skills.

- Rob O’Neill -

It was so easy to join with no ‘formal’ interviews and we were all members within a couple of hours. It was like a breath of fresh air with members coming up to us asking how we were doing and expressing a genuine interest in how our early days were going, totally different from our last club!

- Chris Davison -

I have enjoyed, what time I have been allowed to play. Looking forward to playing again soon,

A personal message from Brenda, the head of the Management Committee

Our membership application procedure is very simple and straightforward, with no formal interview involved. The whole procedure is handled by me as the Head of the Management Committee.

Our membership year runs from the 1st January to the 31st December, with those joining during the year being charged their subscription on a pro-rata basis. It is possible to pay the annual subscription charges by monthly Direct Debit. The cost of the Joining Fee can also be spread, interest free, over two instalments – with one instalment payable at the time of joining and the second instalment payable a year later.

If you have not played our course before, you would be very welcome to play it before making an application to join. The cost of your Green Fee will be deducted from your Subscription Charge when you join. If you would like to play the course, please contact our Professional Darren Charlton, on 01582 662806, to find out the best time to do so.
