The Senior Men's Section of Dunstable Downs Golf Club is open to all members who are 55 and over and are ‘substantially’ retired. There is a one off fee of £5 to join the section.

The Seniors meet on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 07:45 for a ‘Roll Up’ Competition, where everyone gets a game regardless of ability. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new members as well as make new friends. All Seniors are considered for selection to play in the very popular and enjoyable ‘Downsmen’ Inter-Club matches. These are played both at home and away against other top county clubs.

The Dunstable Downs Golf Club Downsmen also play many enjoyable matches with the Ladies and Juniors, making sure they keep their reputation on track! An Eclectic league is run throughout the Summer months which is a qualifying competition for handicap.

Do come and join us for a round, you can be sure of a hearty welcome. You can often find us enjoying a post-game drink in the clubhouse and we’re very keen to welcome newcomers.

The Men's section provides members of all standards with opportunities to play competitive golf against other Clubs..

The Club is an established member of the Bedfordshire Scratch League and will be playing home and away fixtures against several other clubs. Players with a handicap of between plus two and 6 are eligible for selection for the 6 man team and matches are played midweek (usually (Day) afternoons).

The Men's section also play in the Bedfordshire Mid-Handicap League. This match play competition is open to players with handicaps between 6 and 14. The six man team will be playing 10 midweek fixtures, usually on (Day) afternoons. The team for the Bedfordshire Team Cup comprises four category two players (handicaps 6 to 9) and two category 3 players (handicaps 10 to 14).

The Men also play a number of friendly matches against other clubs. These Weekend matches are open to all handicaps and are the perfect way to play competitive golf without the pressure of putting for League points or for a place in the next round!

There are also competitions galore. Foursomes, Fourballs, Stableford, Medal…you name it, we play it!

Friendly roll-ups also take place on most days of the week and with our starting point arrangements, you will never have to wait long to get out on the course.
