Corporate and Golf Society visitors are welcomed at Dunstable Downs on weekdays, except Wednesday. On Fridays, the number of players in a Society is limited to 20. We may be able to accommodate a limited number of small societies at weekends, subject to normal Club activities.

In order to provisionally book a Corporate or Golf Society visit to Dunstable Downs, please contact Gerald Pearce, the General Manager, by telephone on 01582 604472 or by email to secretary@dunstabledownsgolf.co.uk to check that your preferred date is available.

You will then need to confirm the booking by completing and returning the Golf Society Booking Form and Golf Society Menu Selection Form from our Golf Society Information Pack, together with a cheque for the appropriate amount of deposit.

Your booking and deposit payment will be confirmed to you in writing.

GUIDANCE NOTES FOR CORPORATE AND GOLF SOCIETY VISITORS

Tee of the day

Play will be from yellow tees for gentlemen and red tees for ladies.

Playing format

Play should be in three balls unless playing Foursomes or Greensomes. Where possible, players should play a Stableford format and must pick up if unable to score. Texas Scramble format is not permitted.

Playing ability and etiquette

All players are expected to be of “handicap ability” and be fully conversant with golfing etiquette and the Rules of Golf. Whilst players need not be members of a recognised golf club, a Corporate or Golf Society day is not the time to learn the game and we would stress that novices may not use the course. The Club reserves the right to ask any player to leave the course who appears to be lacking in ability or knowledge of the rules and etiquette.

Pace of play

All groups are asked to keep up with the group in front and not just ahead of the group behind. Any group which loses a clear hole and is delaying the group behind should invite the group behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players in that group.

Care of the golf course

Please repair pitch marks on greens, replace divots and smooth over footprints in bunkers.

Golf buggies

We have a limited number of golf buggies for hire at £25 per round, £37.50 for 28 holes and £45 for the day. To check the availability of buggies, please telephone the Professional’s shop on 01582 662806.

Catering

Final numbers for catering should be advised to the Club Caterers at least 48 hours before your visit. The Caterers can be contacted on 01582 604472 (option 4).

Green fees

Final numbers for golf should be advised at least 48 hours before play and details confirmed in the General Manager’s office on the day of your visit, before teeing off.

Payment

Unless agreed beforehand, payment for golf and catering must be made on the day.

Golf shop

Our fully stocked Professional’s shop carries many major brands and will be able to meet all your golfing requirements in terms of equipment, clothing and prizes. Darren Charlton and his staff will be pleased to advise you on any purchase which you are contemplating. Please contact him on 01582 662806.

Dress code

A copy of the Club’s dress code is contained within our Golf Society Information Pack for your information. All visitors are expected to maintain a standard of dress which will not embarrass others, either on the golf course or in the clubhouse.

Mobile telephones

The use of mobile phones for voice conversation is not permitted on the golf course or within the confines of the clubhouse and should be switched to silent at all times. However, they are permitted at all times in the event of an emergency and may be used for voice conversation on the balcony and in the car parks .
